Texas Computer Education Conference Spotlights Print-to-Web Technology
Digital:ConvergenceTM Maintains Commitment to Technology Educators

DALLAS, Feb. 5, 2001 - Digital:Convergence Corporation will demonstrate its :CRQ™ technology to more than 10,000 K-12 teachers, librarians and administrators attending the annual Texas Computer Education Association conference in Austin, Texas, Feb. 5-9. :CRQ ("See Our Cue") technology uses embedded "cues" to empower companies, publishers and broadcasters to enhance content for students and consumers. Print cues, which look like product codes, can be inserted into most print media and are read through the :CRQ software with a :CueCat™ reader. The hand-held :CueCat device reads the cues, instantly linking a user's browser to a related Web page, eliminating the input of lengthy URLs and time-intensive Web navigation.

Since the October launch of :CRQ technology, Digital:Convergence™ has garnered more than 1.25 million registered users. "We've had numerous requests from teachers and school technology coordinators who are eager to have :CueCat readers in their classrooms, libraries, and computer labs," said Casey Green, vice president of education at Digital:Convergence. "There are countless educational applications. Students could swipe cues in a textbook bibliography and instantly connect to additional online resources."

Digital:Convergence will demonstrate the :CRQ software and :CueCat reader in the Microsoft booth at the TCEA conference. The company will distribute the :CRQ technology and educational cue cards containing Web-based information to educators who share an interest in technology.
